Tacloban City – Leyte 2nd District Congressman Sergio Antonio F. Apostol on Thursday filed his certificate of Candidacy as congressman at the Comelec provincial office.
He was accompanied by his wife Ebbie Apostol and 10 Mayors from his district as a show of support to his re-election bid.
His congressional post will be challenged by a much younger candidate businessman Henry Ong the younger brother of Carigara, Leyte incumbent Mayor Boy Ong.
His wife Ebbie Apostol a former congresswoman, Vice Governor and Mayor filed her COC for Board member of the 2nd district to replace her daughter anlie Apostol who filed her COC for Mayor of Carigara.
In an interview with local media after filing his COC, he toke the opportunity of lambasting his political rivals for their ungratefulness.
