Drug Den Owner, a PDEA Targeted Pusher Nabbed

Anti-narcotic operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Barugo Municipal Police Station neutralized a suspected drug den during an anti-drug operation in Sta. Elena St., District III, Barugo Leyte on March 10, 2015. The operation also resulted in the arrest of five drug personalities.

PDEA Regional Office VIII Officer-in-Charge Dir. Laurefel P. Gabales, identified the suspects as Albino Valentino Aruta, Jr. y Adizas @ “Val”, 51 years old, married, and resident of Sta. Elena St., District III, Barugo Leyte; Gil Aruta y Adizas, 47 years old, married, and resident of District V, Barugo Leyte ; Samuel Avestruz y Aruta, 60 years old, living-in, and resident of Cor. Sta. Elena and Rizal Sts., Barugo Leyte; Teopito Aruta, single, and resident of Barugo Leyte; and Roselito Negad y Calo, 40 years old,and resident of District 1, Barugo Leyte.

At around 5:30 PM, operatives of PDEA Regional Office 8 and Barugo Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation at Sta. Elena St., District III, Barugo Leyte which resulted to the arrest of Albino Valentino Aruta, Jr. y Adizas owner of the alleged drug den and four suspected pushers who were inside the den.

Recovered from the suspects were MOL 20 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of one hundred sixty thousand (P160, 000.00) pesos, and various drug paraphernalia.

Arrested suspects are temporarily detained at the PDEA RO VIII Detention Facility.

Val Aruta will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 6 (Maintenance of a Drug Den), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 12 (Possession of Equipment and Other Paraphernalia for Dangerous Drugs) Article II of RA 9165; Gil Aruta and Negad will be charged for violation of Section 7 (Employees and Visitors of a Drug Den); and Avestruz and Teopito Aruta will be charged for violation of Section 7 (Employees and Visitors of a Drug Den), and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) Art. II of R.A. 9165.
