MANILA, Jan. 8 (PNA) — The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday forecasts Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao to experience isolated to moderate rains.
In its 5:00 a.m. Weather Bulletin, it said Luzon will have isolated light rains due to the effect of the Northeast Monsoon or “Hangin Amihan”. It also forecasts partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies.
The state-run weather bureau noted the regions of Caraga, Davao and Northern Mindanao will experience light to moderate rainshowers, along with thunderstorms, to be triggered by cloudy skies.
Visayas and Southern Mindanao will have isolated rainshowers and partly cloudy to cloudy skies.
On the other hand, PAGASA warned against strong winds blowing from the Northeast, which is expected to prevail over Luzon and Visayas’ coastal areas. These areas will have moderate to rough waters.
As such, the weather bureau warned against gale force winds affecting the seaboards of Northern Luzon, along with the eastern seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon.
PAGASA advises fishermen and those with small boats not to head out to sea. (PNA)
