TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte, April 9 (PIA) – The Human Rights Victim’s Claims Board (HRVCB is encouraging all human rights violations victims during the Marcos regime to submit their claims at their office at UP Diliman or at intake desks of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Regional Office 8.
This, after the HRVCB resumed yesterday the acceptance of the applications for claims due to its extension with the passage of Joint Resolution No.03 which was approved by the President last February 17, 2015 and published in the official gazette on March 23, 2015.
In a press statement, Chairperson Lina C. Sarmiento of the Human Rights Victims’ Claims Board said that with the effectivity of Joint Resolution Nno. 03 and pursuant to its mandate, the HRVCB extended its intake operations until May 30, 2015.
The resumption of intake would allow those who failed to file within the 6-month period to submit their claims and failure to submit application within the period is deemed a waiver in the right to file claim for reparation and recognition under Republic Act No.10368.
The first round of intake operations was conducted last May 12 to November 10, 2014.
Application forms and all supporting documents should be prepared and checked beforehand to prevent any delay in the application process. Forms are also downloadables at HRVCB website www.hrvclaimsboard.gov.ph and no fees are required for filing.
