Catbalogan, Samar – Anti-drug elements from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office VIII, Samar Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG) and Catbalogan City Police Station arrested two illegal drug vendors during a buy-bust operation at Purok 8, Brgy. Canlapwas, Catbalogan Samar on January 27, 2015 at around 10:30 PM in the evening.
PDEA RO VIII Officer-in-Charge Director Laurefel P. Gabales identified the suspects as Rosette Brazil Gilhang, 31 years old, single, and a resident of Brgy. 10 San Roque Street, Catbalogan Samar and Axel Miel Mahinay, 31 years old, single, and a resident of Brgy. Carmen, Calbayog Samar.
Gilhang was caught selling one (1) piece heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, whereas Mahinay was caught selling one (1) piece heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu and yielded another one (1) sachet suspected to be shabu.
Gilhang will be charge for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 while Mahinay will be charge for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of R.A 9165
The suspects are now temporarily detained at Catbalogan City Police Station Lock-up facility.
