Albuera , Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa and a certain raul Yap were killed at their cell at the Baybay, Leyte sub provincial jail at about 4:00 am today.
According to media reports, Espinosa resisted arrest when served with a warrant of arrest by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).
They two were killed in an alleged gun – grabbing attempt when CIDG operatives were about to serve the warrant to Espinosa.
Espinosa the father of Drug Lord Kerwin Espinosa was charged with illegal possession of firearms and illegal drugs after a raid on his house yielded several kilos of Shabu and unlicensed high powered firearms.
