Anti-Drug elements of PDEA RO8 and Counter Intelligence- Anti-Illegal Drugs Task Force, 8MIB, PA arrested two Drug Personalities during a buy-bust operation conducted on March 12, 2017 at around 04:00 PM at Brgy. 109, V@G Subdivision, Tacloban City.
In a report submitted to PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña, elements of PDEA Regional Office 8 under Director Edgar T. Jubay and CI-AIDTF, 8MIB, PA identified the suspects as Melbert Ian Labarda y Agullo alyas “Ian”, 35 y.o., male, married, tricycle driver, and resident of Blk. 12, Lt. 13, Phase 6, Brgy. 109 V@G Subdivision, Tacloban City; and Israel Manzanares y Pena alyas “Botchokoy”, 43, y.o., male, widower, tricycle driver, and resident of Blk. 20, Lt. 19, Phase 2, Brgy. 109 V@G Subdivision, Tacloban City.
Purchased from the suspect were two (2) pcs. heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be Methamphetamine Hydrochloride also known as Shabu with a total estimated weight of 0.12 gram with an estimated market value of one thousand pesos (Php 1,000.00), and various drug paraphernalia.
The suspects will be charged for violations of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of RA 9165.
The suspects are now temporarily detained at PDEA Detention Facility while waiting for their confinement order.
