TACLOBAN CITY, (PNA) — Energy Secretary Carlos Jericho Petilla asked Mayor Alfred Romualdez and Rehabilitation Secretary Panfilo Lacson to work together on the implementation of the post-Yolanda rehabilitation projects in the city.

Petilla, a former Leyte governor, told the two officials to stop blaming each other in the delay of implementation of rehabilitation works.

More than a year now since the devastation of typhoon Yolanda, Petilla said that there is much improvement on the areas hit by the super typhoon but more works should be done to improve the living condition of the people.

During the commemoration of super typhoon Yolanda’s devastation, Lacson criticized Romualdez of being uncooperative to the national government-led rehabilitation works.

Lacson described the rehabilitation effort in the city as “subpar,” which triggered a squabble between the two officials.

In his recent visit, the head of the Office of the Presidential Assistance for Rehabilitation and Recovery assured that the national government will not leave Tacloban and will continue supporting the city’s rebuilding efforts. (PNA)
