Central Poblacion, Hilongos, Leyte.
Initial Investigation disclosed that prior to the explosion while the amateur boxing event was held at the Plaza Rizal, three (3) unidentified malefactors were seen discreetly leaving the blast sites near the boxing ring as caught in the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) when its hard drive was reviewed for investigation purposes.

A SOCO investigation revealed the following pieces of evidence recovered from the blast scene such as components from pieces of 60mm and 81mm Mortar projectile placed in two separate locations detonated by cellphones.
The PNP recorded thirty five (35) persons injured during the blast based on the additional data provided by Leyte Police Provincial Office and as of press time, only three (3) injured persons are still confined in Leyte Provincial Hospital, Palo, Leyte.
