Camp Ruperto K Kangleon, Palo, Leyte- “The Solution of crimes and arrests of wanted persons and other criminal elements are among the top priorities of Police Regional Office 8”, thus says PCSUPT HENRY P LOSAÑES, Regional Director.
Seven (7) Wanted persons have been arrested by the PNP in the last three (3) days regionwide.
In the Province of Leyte, three (3) wanted persons were arrested.
First, elements of Carigara MPS, Leyte PPO led by PCI ESMERALDO TIOZON RICO arrested one Herminigildo Prada y Ligutan, 53 years old, married, farmer and a resident of Barangay Candigahub, Carigara, Leyte at about 5:30 A.M. of September 12, 2014.
The suspect was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for Attempted Homicide docketed under CC nr. M-CAR-2014-011-CR issued by Hon Marisa C Renomeron Posion, MTC Acting Presiding Judge, Carigara, Leyte with a recommended bail of Twelve Thousand Pesos (Php 12,000.00).
Second apprehension took place at Barugo, Leyte wherein elements of Barugo MPS, Leyte PPO led by PSI EUFRACIO D JAVINES arrested one Rene Canonce y Corton, 31 years old, married, farmer and a resident of Barangay Cabuloan, Barugo, Leyte.
He was arrested at about 12:30 P.M. of September 13, 2014 by virtue of warrant of arrest for violation of section 5 (a) in relation to section 6 of RA 9262 docketed under CC nr. RTC-2014-547-CR issued by Hon Lauro AP Castillo, Executive Judge, RTC Branch 36, Carigara, Leyte with recommended bail of Twelve Thousand Pesos (Php 12,000.00).
The third was in Isabel, Leyte. One Leodegario Pelayo y Cañete, 43 years old, married, businessman, presently residing at Barangay Sto. Niño, Isabel, Leyte voluntarily surrendered to Palompon MPs, Leyte PPO at about 2:41 P.M. of September 11, 2014 for the crime of Perjury docketed under CC No. 7986 and Violation of RA 3019 docketed under CC NO. R-PAL-13-190CR. Subject person was released after posting a bail of Thirty Six Thousand Pesos (Php36,000.00).
On the other hand, elements of Calbayog CPS, Samar PPO, led by SPO4 Eduardo Simon arrested one Julio Bernales y Ticong, 56 years old, married, teacher and a resident of said place at about 6:00 A.M. of September 11, 2014, at Purok 1, Barangay Tinambacan Norte, Tinambacan District, Calbayog City, Samar.
The suspect was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for Reckless Imprudence Resulting to Less Serious Physical Injuries docketed under CC No. 04-11928, issued by Honorable Judge Noel G Sermense of MCTC, Calbayog City with no bail recommended.
Another apprehension of wanted person happened in Calbayog City when one Ricardo Aguilar y Serito, 40 years old, single, jobless was arrested by elements of Calbayog CPS, Samar PPO led by PINSP EDGARDO PARIDO ADVINCULA at about 12:30 P.M. of September 12, 2014, at Purok 6, Barangay West Awang, Calbayog City, Samar.
He was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for Violation of Section 5, Article II of RA 9165 docketed under CC No. 7013, issued by Honorable Judge Cicero T Lampasa, of RTC Branch 31, Calbayog City with no bail recommended.
The same day, the same team also arrested one Edgar ANDAHAO Y Carig, 40 yrs old, married, jobless and a resident of Purok 2, Brgy Capoocan, Calbayog City, Samar, by virtue of warrant of arrest for Reckless Imprudence Resulting to Serious Physical Injuries, docketed under Criminal Case Nr. 14-14424, issued by Honorable Judge Noel G. Sermense, of Municipal/City Circuit Trial Court, Calbayog City, Samar with recommended bail of Twelve Thousand Pesos (P12,000.00).
Lastly, a certain Ranjie Adolfo y Barredo, 23 years old, single and a resident of Barangay 96, Tigawon 1, Tacloban City was arrested by elements of Police Station 1, Tacloban City Police Office at about 3:40 P.M. of September 11, 2014 by virtue of warrant of arrest for Slight Physical Injury docketed under CC No. 2013-01-CR-37, issued by Honorable Judge Mario P. Nicolasora of MTCC Branch 2, Tacloban City.
The arrested persons were brought to the respective Municipal Police Stations for documentation prior to turn-over to the court of origin.
PCSUPT LOSAÑES highly commends the PNP personnel who were directly involved in the successful arrest of these wanted persons which are responsible for committing crimes.
Their arrests were the products of continued police operations in close coordination with the people in the community. This accomplishment manifests their utmost dedication to duty and their professionalism.
The PNP leadership extends its heartfelt congratulations to the operating PNP elements for a job well done, including all the police officers who performed their duties with utmost dedication and loyalty, thereby immensely contributing to the attainment of the mission of the PNP.
The Regional Director expressed, “The PNP will remain steadfast in performing its mandated tasks to ensure the safety of the people who live and sojourn in the country, free from threats and harm. The PNP will continue to exert all its efforts to bring other perpetrators of crimes to justice and will hold them responsible for their criminal acts.”
