Camp Kangleon, Palo, Leyte, Jan 1, 2017 – PCSUPT ELMER C BELTEJAR, the Regional Director of Police Regional Office 8 lauds the PNP personnel in Eastern Visayas for the snappy performance of duty not only during the holidays but also the whole year of 2016.
The statement was issued by the Regional Director after he got a text from no less than the Chief PNP, PDG Ronald dela Rosa, congratulating the whole PNP force for the successful and peaceful celebration of New Year and the supervision of Project TOKHANG which recorded 8,104 surrenderers from Dec 9-31, 2016 nationwide.
PCSUPT BELTEJAR commended all the personnel specially the Chiefs of Police for a job well done in the implementation of Ligtas Paskuhan which recorded zero death (re firecrackers) and victim of stray bullets.
As of 12:00 PM January 1, 2017, Police Regional Office 8 recorded a total of eighteen (18) Law Enforcement conducted in line with the implementation of RA 7183 (regulation on use of firecrackers/pyrotechnics) One (1) on Joint inspections/operations with concerned GAs and NGAs.
Likewise, the following were also recorded: No. of Firecracker/pyro technique related -deaths-0 -injured-6; No. of indiscriminate firing incidents perpetrated by: Civilian-1 Police-0 Military-0 Other LEAs-0 Other government employees-0 and No. of indiscriminate firing related – deaths-0 -injuries-0
