TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte Feb.12 (PIA) – The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Regional Office 8 is now accepting applications for OFW Dependents Scholarship Program.
In a press release sent to the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) by OWWA-8, it said this is one of the leading programs of OWWA which is being continuously offered to the beneficiaries of its member-overseas Filipino workers as part of its mission to take care of the welfare of its member-OFWs and their families.
Under the OFW Dependents Scholarship Program, the qualified applicant enjoys a monetary assistance of P20, 000.00 per school year to any baccalaureate degree he/she is enrolled.
OWWA-8 Regional Director Norma C. Del Rosario is encouraging all graduating high school students who are beneficiaries to take the offer and avail the program.
Any interested applicant must be a child of a married OWWA member or brother/sister of an unmarried OWWA member who has a monthly salary of not more than 400 US dollars, must be below 21 years old, in good health, with good moral character, must belong to the upper 20% of high school graduating class, has not earned units in post secondary or undergraduate course and must not be a recipient of any scholarship award.
