Leyte Police Provincial Office – Leyte Police Provincial Office (LPPO) will provide security to vital installations and will implement active defense against any possible attack and take advantage of the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day festivities, according to PSSUPT FRANCO P SIMBORIO, Officer In-charge.

Aside from the usual operation during the two-day holiday where police personnel are deployed to provide extensive security in the places of convergence such as the cemeteries, churches, transport terminals and other public places, PSSUPT SIMBORIO ordered the provision of police personnel in the said additional areas to avoid possible threat to public order and safety.

“As what we always implement during holidays and special events, the LPPO police will be placed on full alert to provide maximum coverage and public safety services,” Simborio said.

On November 1 and 2, Leyteneos are expected to flock to several areas, particularly the cemeteries as they visit their deceased loved ones.

Bus terminals, sea ports and airports are also expected to be full of commuters as the people take advantage of the season to be on a vacation.

Simborio said that all Leyte Chiefs of Police will establish a Road/Route Safety Marshals in major thoroughfares and strategic areas along the routes from and to cemeteries and other areas of public convergence.

“Assistance Hubs and Alert Quick Response Team will also be established as part of the PNP’s public service for the general public and motorists,” he said.

This will be in coordination with local government units, non-government agencies, concerned government agencies and force multipliers such as the barangay officials to prevent criminal activities.

Said teams will also respond to any emergency case when the need arises such as missing persons, medical emergencies and accidents. So that our public servants will feel safer and more secured, he added.
