MANILA, Jan. 3 (PNA) — Light to moderate rains are expected in the Eastern Visayas region, as the tail-end of cold front will persist in its provinces, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its 5:00 a.m. weather bulletin Saturday, PAGASA said the tail-end of cold front will continue to affect the Eastern Visayas provinces. The cold front is the front boundary of two air masses that produces clouds and rain.

The state-run weather bureau noted Eastern Visayas will have cloudy skies, accompanied with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.

On the other hand, PAGASA added the northeast monsoon or “Hangin Amihan”, which is the cold winds blowing from Siberia, will also continue to be felt in Luzon and lasts until March.

Moreover, CALABARZON and the Bicol region, along with the provinces of Cagayan Valley and Cordillera are expected to have cloudy skies with light rains.

Further, PAGASA forecasts that Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, while the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the weather bureau has issued a gale warning advisory over the seaboards of Luzon, Visayas and the CARAGA region. It discourages fisherfolks and those with small boats to head out to sea, due to the strong winds. (PNA)
