TACLOBAN CITY,  (PNA) -– The Department of Health (DOH) has delivered 200 wheelchairs for free to residents in Leyte province with walking impairment.

On Wednesday, the provincial government distributed the wheelchairs to recipients in the towns of Carigara, Tanauan, Dulag and Barugo.

Priority in the distribution are those who were not able to walk after suffering diabetes and born with health cialis generique problems that make them incapable of walking.

“This is a comprehensive program of the previous administration of DOH that has been continued. We are just so grateful that we are given the chance to do this. No job in the whole world gives you that much satisfaction unlike when you help those who are in need like the people who cannot walk,” said Vice Governor Carlo Loreto.

Loreto clarified that the distribution of wheelchairs is based on the referral of the local social welfare development office or village officials who provided them the names of potential beneficiaries.

Gracia Asis, a resident of Roxas village in Dulag town had been looking for a wheelchair for her daughter, Gladys, who is suffering hydrocephalus.

Asis went to the municipal social welfare office of Dulag town on Monday to ask if they could provide her a wheelchair.

“They told me to wait for it. I did not expect this fast. We are thankful to those who helped us,” Asis said. (PNA)
