PALO, Leyte, Oct. 8 (PNA) — Leyte Governor Leopoldo Dominic Petilla does not have much expectation from the coming visit of President Benigno Aquino III to the province but says he looks forward for the country’s top leader seeing for himself the status of the ongoing rehabilitation here.

President Aquino is slated here October 20 for the 70th anniversary of the Leyte Gulf landing commemoration.

Aside from gracing the occasion, Aquino is also expected to do site visits to various rehabilitation projects undertaken after typhoon Yolanda.

He said that it would be better if the President sees with his two eyes the situation on the ground.

In prior interviews, the governor cited improvement in the physical structure of the province although much is yet to be done.

While waiting for the full-swing implementation of rehabilitation, the province has been relying on support from private sector support as well as local and international non-government organizations. (PNA)
