TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte, May 26(PIA) – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) 4th Leyte Engineering District has been recognized for being transparent of the projects undertaken by the agency in Leyte.

On its weekly news report submitted to Philippine Information Agency, District Engineer Lino Francisco C. Gonzales said, the district will continue informing the citizens on various projects which are still ongoing, those that have been completed or for completion.

The certificate of recognition that was received by Asst. District Engr. Irwin L. Antonio made the district as 4th placer in the region for submitting the most number of reports among the district engineering offices in Eastern Visayas.

District Engineer Gonzales feels elated for receiving such award from Central Office with the assurance to continue to strive harder to improve their services in order to become the best in the region.

As of May 2015, a number of projects are still ongoing. These include the widening of national road along Palo-Carigara-Ormoc Road project, the construction of Tabgas flood control at Brgy. Tabgas, Albuera, Leyte, a major repair on road slip along Villaba-Palompon road section, widening of national road along Palompon-Isabel-Merida-Ormoc road, construction of Palanas flood control at brgy. Balugo, Albuera,Leyte and the off-carriageway project at Brgy. Cogon, Ormoc City.

Engr. Gonzales is personally inspecting the projects to make sure that the implementation is in accordance with the plans and specifications. (ajc/cba/PIA-8)
