BORONGAN CITY, (PIA) – – The Department of Labor and Employment – Eastern Samar Field Office (DOLE-ESFO) through Provincial Director Engr. Aleksei D. Abellar urged business establishments and workers who were affected by COVID-19 pandemic to avail the COVID-19 Adjustment Measure Program (CAMP).

According to Engr. Abellar that CAMP is a safety net program that provides one-time financial support to affected workers in the formal sector due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Engr. Abellar said that this program is a government financial assistance and it is a one time five thousand pesos (P5,000.00) financial support for workers or employees and business establishments that have adopted a flexible work arrangement or whose business have been temporarily forced to close due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The provincial director disclosed that the qualified establishments are Micro-Small and Medium Establishments (MSMEs) and their workers who were affected by COVID-19 pandemic.

He said that the qualified beneficiaries are MSMEs who applied for CAMP on or before April 15, 2020 but did not receive any financial assistance under Bayanihan 1 and other private establishments that are not categorized as MSMEs who applied for CAMP on or before April 15, 2020 but did not receive any financial assistance under Bayanihan 1.

Also MSMEs that will apply for the first time under Bayanihan 2, and other private establishments that are not categorized as MSMEs that will apply for the first time under Bayanihan 2.

He further said that others are those affected workers in private establishments whose employment face or suffer interruption due to COVID-19 pandemic, displaced workers whose employment is permanently terminated due to authorized and/or other causes that are related to COVID-19. It also includes a worker temporarily laid-off or on floating status.

While, the affected establishments are those private establishments that have implemented permanent closure or, as a mitigating measure, have implemented retrenchment, and temporary closure.

“The pay-out will start on November 15, 2020 as promised by our Secretary Bello to President Duterte but still they are allowed to continue to apply through the website: reports.dole.gov.ph.,” Abellar said.

He also said to those workers who can’t apply to this program, the employer is advised to process their workers application through online.
The distribution of this financial assistance is through the accredited lending institution which is MLhuillier that was contracted by DOLE. The remittance center will text the code to the qualified applicants.
