CATARMAN, Northern Samar, October 10 (PIA) – The Department of Health (DOH) will soon upgrade the Northern Samar Provincial Hospital (NSPH) and will construct of a blood bank building within the hospital compound in Catarman.

Dr. Rommel Francisco, DOH Provincial Health Team Leader said that DOH has allotted P36 million for the upgrading of NSPH, which is under the Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP). The amount will be utilized in the construction of the new hospital building including the blood bank, he added.

The program seeks to upgrade the infrastructure and equipment of government health facilities across the country, he stressed.

The health officer said that the upgrading and rehabilitation of public health facilities is in line with the department’s overarching goal of providing universal health care or “Kalusugan Pangkalahatan” in partnership with the local government units.

The program will complete the needed facilities and will bring quality health care to the most vulnerable sector of the province. (ajc/PIA8-North Samar)
