ngcpORMOC CITY, Leyte, Sept. 10 (PNA) -– Tacloban City will experience a day-long power interruption on Saturday, according to the advisory of National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

Cause of the blackout is the shutdown of the 138kV Ormoc-Babatngon line to facilitate the annual maintenance of associated high voltage equipment and protective relays.

The scheduled power interruption will also affect other parts of Leyte, Southern Leyte and Biliran provinces although for a shorter duration

Among these are the Abucay and Sagkahan (Tacloban City) substations of Leyte-II Electric Cooperative Inc. (Leyeco II) at 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Campetic (Palo) substation of Leyeco II for 45 minutes between 6 to 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Substation of Don Orestes Romualdez Electric Cooperative Inc. in Javier town will shut down for 30 minutes between 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. as well as the substations in Javier and Tolosa towns for 30 minutes between 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Affected by 30-minute power interruption between 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. are Leyeco III’s substations in Tunga and Alang-alang towns, Biliran Electric Cooperative, Leyeco V’s Sambulawan substation, and Southern Leyte Electric Cooperative’s substations in Sogod, Himay-angan and Saint Bernard. (PNA)
