Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Campetic, Palo, Leyte– A Barangay Captain of Calbayog City and her son were shot dead, two others wounded at Brgy. Guinbaoyan Norte, Calbayog City on September 6, 2016, 8:00 A.M.

Estrella Olyado y Delmonte, 53 years old, married, Brgy. Captain of Brgy. Guinbaoyan Norte, Calbayog City and her son, Ismael Olaydo y Delmonte, 30 years old, were shot by the suspects Rogelio Salvame, and three unidentified companions.

Initial investigation disclosed that Olyados were onboard a tricycle when the suspects appeared and shot the victims with the use of a firearm of unknown caliber which resulted to their instantaneous death.

The husband, Esmeraldo Oylado was also shot by one of the suspects, however the firearm malfunctioned enabling him to ran away. Another victim identified as Erika Rollo who was

texting along the street was also hit by a stray bullet in her leg and was immediately brought to Calbayog District Hospital for medical treatment.

Suspects fled and carted away a cash money amounting to Php 80,000.00 from the victims. Recovered from the crime scene were thirty-two pcs fired cartridges; six pieces deformed slugs and two pieces live ammunition for 45 .cal pistol.

In a separate incident, Leonardo Garalza y Villamor, 37 years old, married, and a resident of said place was also shot by two unidentified suspects at about 4:45 P.M. of September 7, 2016, at Brgy. East Awang, Calbayog City, Samar.

Initial investigation disclosed that the victim was on his way home riding a motorcycle when the suspects appeared and shot the victim several times with the use of a firearm of unknown caliber. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds on his body which resulted to his instantaneous death and was brought to Junjun Funeral Home for post mortem examination.

Recovered from the crime scene were nine pcs fired cartridges for .45 cal. pistol and a piece of card board with writings “WAG TULARAN PUSHER AKO”.

The elements of Calbayog City Police and  Samar Provincial Police Office are conducting hot pursuit operation for the arrest of the suspects. PRO-8/PR
