A former member of PNP NARCOM turned Politician is now facing charges for violation of violation of RA 9165 and 10591 after being caught in possession of illegal drugs and unlicensed firearms during the service of Search Warrant by the combined elements of PDEA RO8, Eastern Samar Provincial Police office O, 1st RPSMC and Maydolong PNP.
PDEA RO VIII Regional Director Laurefel P. Gabales identified the suspect as Virgilio Bagas, Jr y Montes, 43 years old, married, a former member of PNP NARCOM and now ABC President of Maydolong, Eastern Samar.
At around 09:45 pm, operatives of PDEA RO 8, PAIDSOTG, Eastern Samar PPO, 1st RPSMC and Maydolong MPS implemented a Search Warrant that led to the arrest of Bagas. Found in his possession and control were twenty (20) pcs. heat-sealed plastic sachet containing suspected shabu with an estimated market value of one hundred sixty thousand pesos ( Php 160,000.00) weighing approximately 10.0 grams and various drug paraphernalia.
Also recovered from the suspect are 1 colt 1911 cal 45 with 1 mag and 7 live ammo, 1 colt Ar-15 cal 45 with 2 mag and 19 ammo, 1 luger MOD TEC-K69 9mm with 2 mag and 19 live ammo, 46 cal-22 live ammo, 53 9mm live ammo and 72 cal 45 live ammo.
Cases for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and R.A 10591 are being prepare for the immediate filing in court. The suspect is temporarily detained at Maydolong Police Station detention facility.
