TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte, Aug 9 (PIA) – Leyte Normal University, one of the prestigious schools in Eastern Visayas presented to the local media on Tuesday its five topnotchers of the 2017 Licensure Examination for Social Workers.
This, after the university ranked 1 as top performing school in the country in this year’s social work board examination.
In a press conference held at LNU tea house, University President Jude Duarte congratulated the 67 passers particularly the topnotchers for making LNU a leading university of all schools in the country with 100 percent passing percentage with five students making it to the top ten.
“To our topnotchers, words cannot express how I feel personally your success. Your success is my success. I feel accomplished because of what you have done. You made LNU proud, imagine we are ahead of other leading universities in the country. We are ahead right now because of your performance which is a joint effort among students and faculty members in the social work department so I salute to all of you,” Duarte said.
The university president likewise thanked the students and the faculty as he described the social work department as the only department which never give him a problem.
“Among all departments, it is the only department which never give me a problem, low profile and yet produce results,” Duarte further said.
The social work students who made it to the top ten were Cyril May Sy Lagardo and Lenabeth Grefiel Regahal, both as top seven; Precious Viloh Baliad Dadap as top nine and Carol Balais Astorga and Lora Alcala Misagal, both as top ten placers.
During last year’s examination, it was reported that LNU got also a 100 percent passing percentage for the social work board examination. (ajc/cba/PIA8)
