CATARMAN, Northern Samar, Jan. 24 (PIA) — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region  VIII initiated an advocacy campaign on Constitutional Reform (CoRe) through a provincial roadshow in Northern Samar on January 16 and 17, 2020

“The activity  brought the advocacy campaign in the province aimed at educating, developing, and increasing the information awareness on the weaknesses of the unitary system and to gather support for the campaign,” said Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) .

In Northern Samar, three activities  were held in two days with a big turnout involving the media and local chief executives for the Media Briefing and Town Hall meeting, Forum with the students and a Convention Rally tagged as Balangayan attended by barangay officials representing 569 barangays of the province.

The Center for Federalism and Constitutional Reform Project Officer Ms. Emmylou Magno, explained in details the four pillars of constitutional reform, which are empowering regions, saying no to TraPo, open economy and new constitution for the new generation.

Ms. Magno urged everyone to join hands with President Duterte in realizing his vision for a united, peaceful and prosperous Philippines, leaving a lasting legacy for our nation and the people.

“Constitutional Reform is the way to go,” Magno said.
