Tacloban City – A suspected drug den maintainer and six personalities were arrested by combined operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and local police during a conduct of buy-bust on November 18, 2015 at Gurami St. V @ G Subdv. Tacloban City.
PDEA RO VIII Officer-in-Charge Director Laurefel P. Gabales identified the drug den owner as Paul Labarda male, 48 years old, separated, Watchman of Leyte Provincial Agriculture, and a resident of B4 L24 Phase 4 Gurami St., Brgy. 109-A, V & G Subdv., Tacloban City
Arrested as suspected customers were Frederick Loi Ladera, male, 33 years old, ex-Police Officer, resident of Tarusan, Boronggan Samar; Barry Daa, male, 39, years old, single, Businessman, resident of Brgy, 64 Bliss Sagkahan, Tacloban City; Juldon Reyes, male, 36 years old, separated, resident of B2 L10, Phase 4 Ext., Hollywood St., Brgy. 109-A, V&G, Tacloban City; Richard Montalla, male, 31 years old, single, driver, resident of B2 L7 Phase 5 Ext. St., Brgy. 109-A V&G, Tacloban City; Danica Magrobang, female, single, resident of Brgy. 64 Bliss, Sagkahan, Tacloban City/ Brgy. Bislig, Tanuan Leyte; and Realyn Corre, female, resident of Brgy. 60-A Sagkahan, Tacloban City.
At around 5:30 PM, anti-drug elements of PDEA RO 8 and Tacloban City Police Officers conducted a buy-bust operation that lead to the arrest of the suspects and purchased of one (1) piece heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu,and also seizure of five (5) pieces heat-sealed plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, weighing approximately 73 grams with an estimated market value of six hundred thousand pesos (Php 600,000.00) and various drug paraphernalia.
Labarda will be charged for violation of Section 26 in relation to Section 5 para b (Conspiracy- Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 6 (Maintenance of a Drug Den), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), whileLadera will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of RA 9165, and cases for violation of Section 7 (Visitors of a Drug Den) of the anti-drug law, await the others.
