Tacloban , CIty – A pedicab driver was arrested by the elements of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during a buy-bust operation in Tacloban City on November 25, 2014.

PDEA RO VIII Officer-in-Charge Director Laurefel P. Gabales identified the suspect as Dominador Gallo y Villablanca, 46 years old, single, and resident of Brgy. 58, Tacloban City.

At around 8:30 PM, operatives of PDEA Regional Office VIII arrested Gallo after he was caught selling suspected Methamphetamine Hydrochloride, or shabu along Brgy. 60 Old Road Sagkahan, Tacloban City. Gallo yielded

two (2) sachet of suspected shabu weighing approximately 1.5 grams. Found also in his possession were various drug paraphernalia.

Gallo will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drug), Section 11(Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Paraphernalia for Dangerous Dugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The

Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The suspect is currently in the custody of PDEA RO VIII while awaiting the commitment order.

Meanwhile, A local government employee, who is also a drug pusher, was arrested by combined anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police in Dulag, Leyte on November 21, 2014.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. identified the suspect as Ernesto Goteco y Tapalla, 57 years old, an employee of the Provincial Engineering Office, Road Maintenance Section of the Provincial government of Leyte in Eastern Visayas.

At around 5:40 pm, combined operatives of the PDEA Regional Office 8 under the direct supervision of Director Laurefel P.Gabales, Dulag Municipal Police Station-Municipal Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (MAIDSOTF), Leyte Provincial Police Office-Intelligence Branch, and Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (PAIDSOTF) conducted a buy-bust in Brgy. Combis, Dulag, Leyte which resulted in the arrest of Goteco.

Confiscated during the operation were three pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, and the buy-bust money used during the operation.

Goteco will be facing charges for violation Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 orThe Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
