Tacloban City – Anti-drug operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office VIII and Tacloban City Police Office CAIDSOTG arrested a drug personality and cohort during a buy-bust operation on March 26, 2015 at Brgy. 55, El Reposo, Tacloban City at around 10:30 PM.
PDEA RO VIII Officer-in-Charge IAV Mark P. Damaso identified the suspects as Luther Escalona y Madea alias “Dicoy/Digoy”, 35 years old, married, resident of Brgy. 55, El Reposo, Tacloban City and cohort Herman Corpin y Hidalgo, 41 years old, married, and resident of Brgy. 60, Aslum, Sagkahan, Tacloban City.
Both suspects were caught selling suspected shabu and marijuana. Seized from their possession and control were heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing MOL 7.0 grams, sachet containing suspected marijuana dried leaves weighing MOL 0.5 grams , and various drug paraphernalia.
Escalona will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Equipment, Instrument, Apparatus and Other Paraphernalia for Dangerous Drugs) whereas Corpin will be charged for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Section 12 (Possession of Equipment, Instrument, Apparatus and Other Paraphernalia for Dangerous Drugs) and Section 26 (Attempt or Conspiracy) para b, Article II of R.A 9165
The suspects are now temporarily detained at PDEA Detention Facility.
