MAASIN CITY, July 3 (PIA) – – cialis pas cher In time for the 58th Founding Anniversary celebration of the province of Southern Leyte, the Maasin new passenger terminal building was inaugurated, July 2, 2018 with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade as guest.

The passenger terminal building project was aimed to address the demand for airport terminal space of the only airport serving the province.

It will also serve as another hub for Maasin City that aims to accommodate commercials flights to expand the area’s tourism industry and to improve connectivity and accessibility for the entire region.

In his message, Tugade disclosed that the airport’s 1.3 kilometer runway will be expanded to 1.8 km. and the passenger terminal that caters around 50 passengers will be increased to 150 passengers that will be accommodated.

With the DOTr sec was Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Director General Capt. Jim Sydiongco, DOTr Usec for Aviation, and Airports Capt. Manuel Antonio Tamayo, Cong. Roger Mercado, Maasin City Mayor Nacional Mercado, Gov. Christopherson Yap who all led the inaugural ceremony.

At the moment, only a 9-seater Cessna commercial plane is operating at the airport with routes of Maasin-Cebu, Maasin-Tagbilaran, and vice versa.

It was learned that the Maasin airport development project also include the construction of a vehicle parking area, power house and access road, and the installation of furnitures and air conditioning units that has already been bid out.
